# Making your first deposit

> Connect a Berachain wallet, choose a tranche, review deposit fees, then approve and deposit to start earning in the same block.

1. Connect your wallet. Berafarm runs on Berachain only — on the wrong network, the connect button reads **Wrong network**.
2. Open your tranche and go to the **Deposit** tab.
3. Enter an amount, or use **Max** / the slider. The "You will deposit" line below the input already reflects what actually lands in the strategy, not your raw input.

1. Check **Deposit Fees** in "Other Details" before confirming. Rates differ by tranche and vault and the team can change them, so read the live number here rather than assuming.
2. Click **Deposit \<token>**. A first deposit in a token needs an approval, the modal walks you through **Approve Deposit**, then **Deposit**, each with its own pending state.

3. Success gives you a toast and a confirmation modal with **View Transaction**.

The farm card's TVL bar shows a cap on the vault, but the app doesn't stop you from trying to deposit past it,  the contract does, and a deposit that would push the vault over the cap fails on-chain.
